Hurricane Katrina... a Potential Catastrophe |

Sunday - August 28, 2005: KATRINA has picked up strength and is now a Category 5 hurricane and is aiming straight at New Orleans, Louisiana. The catastrophic results of landfall at this strength are unthinkable. New Orleans is below sea level and the sea surge caused by the hurricane can put the city under 20 feet (6 meters) of water. Loss of life of catastrophic proportions can result.
We pray for Allah's mercy and urge all people to heed the warnings and head inland. We particulary pray for the safety of all Tunisian expatriates in the region. There are many Tunisians teaching French at Louisiana schools. We urge them to find safety as far inland as possible. This is not a risk anyone should be willing to take.
