Ober Gatlinburg, Tennessee Tunis, 21 July 2005 – (TunisiaOnline): In an effort to further promote tourism in the region, the regional Council of the Jendouba Governorate (North East of Tunisia) has decided to set up a cable-line car linking the forest-mountains of Ain Draham to the beach-shores of Tabarka.
The initiative is aimed at strengthening both the ‘Kroumiria’ region’s rich potential for eco-tourism as well as boosting its general leisure and tourist infrastructure.
The council also took other measures with a view to create natural reserves in the Oued Ezzen forests and revamping the area of Fej al atlal near Ain Draham. The extension of the tourist zone to the areas of Berkoukech (Tabarka), Ben Metir (Fernana), and El Feija (Ghardimaou), was also announced.
