ImageTunisia-on-Line, April 4, 2007: In a press communiqué released on March 30, 2007, the Japanese financial rating agency R&I has decided to improve Tunisia 's sovereign risk notation from BBB+ to A- with a perspective qualified as 'stable'. With this new rating, Tunisia is on a par with other emerging countries such as South Korea (A+), China (A), the Czech Republic(A-), and South Africa (A-). It is to be noted that both Tunisia and South Africa are the only two countries to have been attributed this rating in Africa . Observers note that this improvement in the country's financial rating by one of the world's four best rating agencies, is a confirmation of the trust that Tunisia has among the international financial community, as well as its growing capacity to attract further foreign investments.
