Sousse, Saturday, October 29, 2005 - Etoile Sportif du Sahel (ESS) plays Al-Ahly al-Misri in the first leg of the African League of Champions Finals! Al-Ahly has a 49-game winning streak on the line, as made plainly clear by its Portuguese coach Manuel Jose when he said: "Our culture is one of winning everwhere, and this is what we are going to do in Sousse. We have the best team in Africa."
Etoile on the other hand is not an easy push, beating Rajaa Baydhawi on both legs of the semi-finals (in Tunisia as well as in Morocco). Also, Etoile almost got this same crown when it lost last year's final by penalty kicks.
The two Etoile-Ahly matches promise to be thrillers.

Go ESS!

A draw at 2-2 against Morrocco is all that is needed for the Carthage Eagles to qualify for the World Cup tournament in Germany 2006. The game started with a deadly mistake that gave the Lions of the Atlas their first goal in the first few minutes of the game. That goal affected the performance of the Tunisian team for the rest of the game. Luckily, they held on to the tie and sealed Tunisia's qualification. Congratulations!!

The moment of truth for the Tunisian national soccer team will come on October 8 at November 7 Stadium in Rades when they play their Morroccan counterparts. The outcome of the game will decide which team qualifies for the World Cup finals in Germany in 2006. The Eagles of Carthage have the home turf adavantage. They also need only tie the game to qualify. However, the Lions of the Atlas will be eager to avenge their loss during the African Cup of Nations in the same stadium. All in all, this game is loaded with suspense and promises to be alot of fun to watch. May the best team win and go Tunisia!
